Between Literature and Painting

Nataliy Schenkmann works as a freelance German artist in Koblenz, combining painting, graphics, drawing, performance, object art, and installation with art historical reflection. Her works address urban history, architecture, and the psychological aspect of everyday life; the website describes her expressionistic works as a connection between literature and painting that portray people, architecture, and urban life. Particularly formative is the focus on the figure and on spaces that appear like soulful landscapes. Urban Landscapes, Portraits, and the Narrative Image

For this exhibition, new works with a focus on urban landscapes and portraits are announced. This is where Schenkmann's strength lies: The visible tilts into the narrative, the concrete opens up to interpretation. Acrylic and oil paints on canvas or linen, complemented by lacquer effects, create a vibrant surface effect that intricately intertwines light, space, and figure. Art lovers will find here not a distanced show but an aesthetic experience with immediate proximity to the workshop. Art Historical Classification and Resonance

The Artist Association and the Adult Education Center Koblenz reference Schenkmann's education at the University of the Arts and her affiliation with BBK Bonn and KM570. Her exhibitions range from Koblenz to Bonn, Paris, London, and Vienna, as well as Art Innsbruck. Additionally, a Koblenz overview cites her works in relation to New Objectivity and emphasizes grotesque, exaggeration, and the play on the stage of life as recurring motifs. Such classifications make the visit also art historically worthwhile. ([kuenstlersonderbund.de](https://www.kuenstlersonderbund.de/mitgl_schenkmann.htm))

Location, Atmosphere, and Visit

The Atelier 5th Floor Nataliy Schenkmann at Schützenstraße 67 in Koblenz is itself part of the art experience. The spaces promise a concentrated viewing of the works with a focus on current positions of an artist who has established herself in the Rhineland art scene for years.
