The Dream Eater: A magical theater experience for little dreamers

When winter sparkles outside, the gate to Dreamland opens at the Koblenz Theater. Families will experience a fairy tale story based on Michael Ende on December 5, 2026, about the fear of bad dreams, courage, and the power of mutual help.

A journey into the mysterious Dreamland

In Dreamland, good sleep is especially important. But Princess Sleepyhead cannot find peace because she is plagued by bad dreams. The king therefore sets off on a long journey: he seeks advice, crosses roads and mountains, and finally reaches a mysterious place.

When bad dreams suddenly disappear

There, the king meets an unusual creature: the Dream Eater. Bad dreams particularly appeal to him. Together, the two return to Dreamland so that the princess can fall asleep again without fear. The shadow play combines fantasy, gentle suspense, and fairy tale imagery into a child-friendly family experience.

Ages appropriate, comforting, and full of fun learning

The Koblenz Theater presents the performance as a puppet theater and shadow play for children aged 4 and above. The story addresses a theme that many families know: the fear of falling asleep. Children learn that worries can be expressed and that support brings safety. This learning experience strengthens emotional development, empathy, and trust.

Quality time filled with children's laughter and wonder

Bright shadows, mysterious figures, and the king's fairy tale journey create a special atmosphere. For parents, it provides a calm, imaginative theater visit, while children curiously follow how a seemingly unsolvable problem leads to a hopeful solution. The family experience invites subsequent discussions about dreams, courage, and security.

Conclusion: A story of courage for the whole family

The Dream Eater gives families a creative break and encourages them to face their fears. Those who want to experience theater with children, marvel, and discuss the power of good stories will find a heartfelt puppet theater experience for the Advent season at the Koblenz Theater.
