The Dream Eater offers children enchanting theater moments

When the night becomes an adventure in the Land of Dreams, a fairy tale family experience begins at the Theater Koblenz: The Dream Eater invites children and adults on December 19, 2026, to a loving puppet theater journey based on Michael Ende.

A story about fears, courage and good dreams

Princess Schlafittchen cannot find restful sleep because bad dreams frighten her. No doctor or scholar can find a solution. Therefore, the king sets out to seek help. At the end of the world, he encounters a wondrous being that particularly enjoys eating bad dreams.

Poetic puppet theater for young viewers

As a shadow play based on Michael Ende, the production combines images, figures, and imagination into a child-friendly theater experience. The fairy tale narrative provides children with a gentle approach to an important topic: fears can be voiced, and together, ways can be found to experience the night with confidence again.

Age-appropriate, imaginative, and educationally valuable

The Theater Koblenz presents The Dream Eater in the youth and family department and recommends the production for children ages 4 and up. The performance supports children's imagination, emotional development, and opportunities for discussions about feelings. Families create a shared learning experience filled with children's laughter, wonder, and much fun in learning.

A special theater visit in Koblenz

The Theater Koblenz is a four-division house with its own puppet theater division, children's and youth theater, as well as theater educational offerings. A visit to the historic theater space makes the time spent together a special family experience. Children experience how stories come alive with figures, light, and shadow.

Conclusion: Courageously together through the night

The Dream Eater gives families a poetic break and shows that even bad dreams can lose their fright. Those seeking a warm-hearted, age-appropriate, and imaginative children's play will experience a fairy-tale morning full of curiosity, community feeling, and optimism at the Theater Koblenz.
