The Dream Eater: A Magical Family Experience in Koblenz
When the stage transforms into a fairy-tale shadow world, a journey to Dreamland begins for children and families. The puppet theater The Dream Eater based on Michael Ende's work tells the story of a princess who cannot sleep due to bad dreams – until a very special being appears.
A Story Full of Imagination and Security
In Dreamland, everything revolves around restful sleep. But little Princess Sleepit cannot find peace. Her father, the king, sets off to find help. His journey takes him across long roads, high mountains, and wide seas until he meets a mysterious dream-eater.
Shadows, Images, and Children's Laughter
The shadow play provides children with a child-friendly access to Michael Ende's fairy tale narrative. Light, shadow, and moving figures create a special atmosphere that awakens wonder and curiosity. The story addresses familiar feelings and shows in an imaginative way how fears can become smaller when help and friendship are present.
Aged Appropriately for the Theater
The Theater Koblenz recommends The Dream Eater for children aged 4 and up. Therefore, the performance is particularly suitable for the first joint theater visit. The production combines fun learning, emotional development, and communal experience. Children discover how stories can express feelings and inspire courage.
A Festive Theater Moment After Christmas
On Saturday, December 26, 2026, the performance begins at 3:00 PM at the Theater Koblenz. Families experience a fantastical puppet theater filled with Christmas spirit, fairy-tale images, and heartfelt storytelling.
The Dream Eater offers both young and old visitors a shared break filled with wonder, closeness, and children's laughter. Those looking to discover theater as a family experience will encounter a lovingly crafted story about sleep, worries, courage, and security.
