Santa Maria in Koblenz: Musical Nostalgia Meets Grand Stage Feelings

On December 20, 2026, the Rhein-Mosel-Halle in Koblenz will transform into a musical island panorama, promising an evening where pop music, emotion, and theatrical atmosphere elegantly merge. Santa Maria - The Musical: Island Born from Dreams tells the story of a return to a place full of memories, friendship, longing, and new beginnings. The piece is based on the hits of Roland Kaiser and takes the audience into a world where music becomes the storyteller. A Musical Between Longing and Summer Sun

The story relies on a classic, audience-friendly musical core: an island, a reunion, old dreams, and new paths in life. This configuration carries the stage experience lightly and gives the well-known songs a narrative framework that unfolds feelings rather than explaining them. The production blends vacation vibes, situational comedy, and melodic recall power. Roland Kaiser Hits as Dramaturgical Engine

The material thrives on songs that have long reached cult status, including Santa Maria, Joana, or Seven Barrels of Wine. It is precisely this familiarity that creates the appeal: the audience recognizes the melodies immediately, while the staging places the songs in a new context. This results in a mix of concert moments, musical dramaturgy, and emotional reunions, which works particularly well for a broad theater audience. Path to the Premiere, Resonance, and Performance Experience

Previous productions have been described as charming, turbulent, and entertaining; at the same time, reviews refer to a careful musical and scenic design with a book by Norbert Hammerschmidt and Isabel Herrmann, as well as arrangements by Carsten Gerlitz. The duration of previous performances was about 2 hours and 30 minutes including an intermission - a format that suggests a compact, intense evening experience in Koblenz as well. The Rhein-Mosel-Halle as a Strong Setting

The Rhein-Mosel-Halle is Koblenz's major stage and central event venue with barrier-free access, parking facilities in the underground garage, and good public transport connections. For musical evenings, it offers the necessary technical size, a spacious foyer, and the infrastructure for an audience that wishes to arrive comfortably and well-organized. A cloakroom is also provided according to the event portal. ([koblenz.de](https://www.koblenz.de/strukturierte-daten/veranstaltungsorte/rhein-mosel-halle/?utm_source=openai))
