Encounter Jacques Offenbach Virtually: A Journey into the World of Hoffmann's Tales
In the foyer of the theater tent in Koblenz, the introduction to the extraordinary concert experience takes place. During Offenbach Revealed, Jacques Offenbach himself guides us through his compositional workshop and to the key stations of his fantastic opera Hoffmann's Tales.
When the Composer Returns from the Past
The VR work introduction combines music theater, digital stage performance, and historical insights into an atmospheric opening. With the VR headset, the audience immerses themselves in Offenbach's creative world and encounters important figures and motifs that will later shape the opera evening.
Between Romance, Madness, and Strong Emotions
Jacques Offenbach's last opera leads into the inner spaces of the poet Hoffmann. Love, memory, guilt, and artistic inspiration blend into a musical dream journey. The VR experience makes these themes sensually tangible even before the performance begins, preparing for the opera with its dramatic orchestration and intense stage atmosphere.
An Unusual Glimpse Behind the Opera
The introduction lasts about 20 minutes and brings the audience back to the theater tent in time for the following performance of Hoffmann's Tales. The opera will be performed in French with German surtitles. The VR work introduction is recommended for ages 16 and up.
Conclusion: Anticipation for Opera with Digital Pull
Offenbach Revealed opens an unusual access to a masterpiece of music theater. Those who wish to experience the live atmosphere, audience mood, and musical world of Hoffmann's Tales more intensively can combine the VR introduction with the subsequent opera visit at the theater in Koblenz.
